Quali-tea is a make-believe cafe that serves all kinds of tea and tea-related drinks. The idea of this project was to create a cookbook for the customers and community of the cafe that also promoted a social awareness aspect. The concept for the cookbook is “teas around the world” because the idea and experience of drinking tea has existed in many countries all around the world for hundreds of years. So in a society that’s constantly trying to move forward, tea is a symbolic cross cultural experience that unites people.

For a more culturally neutral aesthetic, the design of the cookbook is simple and uses lots of negative space for a cleaner and more modern visual. However, to make the spreads more interesting, hand drawn tea leaves were scattered throughout the edges. The green color was chosen to represent tea leaves and the teal and orange were chosen to complement the green.
