East x West is a night market inspired by the night markets and streets of Asia as well as various holidays and cultural festivals. As the name puts it, East x West is an event that brings an eastern cultural experience to a western location and audience; to put it simply, this is an event where east meets west.

The style of this project is meant to combine traditional eastern elements with the modern and minimalist ideology of the current times. Heavily inspired by minimalist Japanese design, the app uses simple shapes as it is inherently modern. In contrast, the torii gate entrance, lantern walk, and water lantern experience all draw from traditional elements of Asian holidays and festivals as more physical things. These two opposites intertwine with each other as the app is used to navigate the physical eastern aspect of the event and the eastern aspect lends itself to be photo taking opportunities for people to post on social media.
