habitum

Habitum, meaning ‘habits’ in Latin, is a resource for helping people unpack their inner selves and discover ways they may be self-sabotaging and hurting themselves. This collaborative project is about normalizing self care even in its simplest and most basic forms as well as promoting the self-reflection that comes with healing.

The style is based around the idea of dark academia which is defined by the Aesthetics wiki as an “academic aesthetic that revolves around classic literature, the pursuit of self-discovery, and a general passion for knowledge and learning.” So a dark yet colorful color palette was chosen and each of the books was assigned a main color. Hand-drawn elements and lines were added to everything to subtly hint at printing methods of the past like block printing and linocut which is commonly seen in the dark academia aesthetic.
